TD-23510: Date (Time) Picker displays wrong week numbers

Post by Uwe van der Horst » 04 May 2017, 13:23

The date picker and date time picker display wrong week numbers for the next years. E.g. the first week of 2018 begins with "2". google calendar and Outlook are displaying "1".
Most of the date pickers seem to follow the ISO 8601 definition: Weeks start on a Monday; the first week of the year contains the first Thursday of the year.

Odd... I don't see that with U.S. English "day, month date, year" as my default. I tried with both v6.3 SP1 & v7.0 What do you see if you change your Windows' date/time format?

Hi Jeff, If I change my date/time format I see what you see. But in your picture the week numbers are wrong for me as well. Week #1 is missing.

In Outlook I get the expected result with all date/time settings:

Oh, I see that now. I kind of 'ignored' the numbers to the left. And you did write "week numbers" too.

In your Outlook image, what number would you think December 31st to be? 53? Since January 2018 is '1' for the first line, it looks like that's correct in your image, but wrong for me in the attached image here. I see the same '53' as the first week in Jan, 2018 with v6.3 and v7.0. Bug with "Show Week Number" attribute for the DATE & DATETIME Pickers, I guess.

I would expect December 31st to show as '53' and the first week in Jan. to show '1'.

As there is only one row in Gupta Date Picker I would expect to show "1". In any case with German settings the problem is more serious because ALL week numbers are wrong and not only the first. My customers are lawyers and are heavily using the week numbers when making appointments.

Agreed, it is a bug all right. I am not sure about
ALL week numbers are wrong and not only the first
as you wrote. In my last image, weeks 2-5 are correct. It is week '53' which should be a '1' of course.

Interesting that this shows up in v6.1 as well and not been reported to G/OT before. Maybe no one used the new "Show week number" feature before now? But we agree I guess: it's a bug. Anyone with GLS care to submit this one??

At least the week numbers for 2016 and 2017 are correct. Surely this is the reason.
